The Washington Times recently reported that a Disney shareholder belives so strongly that Disney is withholding "The Path to 9/11" that he's offered to buy the rights.  Tom Borelli believes Robert Iger's politics are promting the withholding of the show due to Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.  I don't know much about Iger's politics, but let's assume just for the sake of argument that Borelli's claims are true.  Does Disney have a right or responsibility to attempt to influence politics?  Personally I figure they have as much right as anyone else.  Let's say the documentary does paint the Clinton's in an unfavorable light.  Disney's not a newspaper reporter or something like that.  They are instead a corporate citizen with the same rights as any citizen to help or hinder the political campaign of anyone they see fit by what they say and do (as long as it's not libel or slanderous).  If the shareholders of the company as a whole have a problem with the decision to withhold the show they could vote to overturn the decision.  Apparently one shareholder believes it quite strongly but one shareholder does not make company policy.  I have no problem with Disney making a statement either with the viewing of the show or with them making a statement by withholding it, which is what I believe they're probably doing.
